After a 40-hour studio extravaganza, Shirley Temple? has finally ended the recording session for Here comes the cliché. The sessions took place at Trafalgar Recording Studio in Rome, with the help of Marcello Pau and the curly ghost. Now the work will go on at the Bimbo-Cane Studio, where :fa: will mix and master the 8 songs recorded in the studio, as well as produce and record the last one. The Square: the Overock concept vision of music

One side of The Square is rooted in heavy American sounds, with big guitar walls and amazing filtered voices which get deep into your mind like a virus. Another side stands for romantic English melodies with a distinctive rock imprint. The third side is connected to idea of the the trip, the acid, hypnotic sounds still carrying the same morbid magic since 1967. The last side is dedicated to all that has the flavour of electronics, inhalated in all possible ways you can think of. Overock music is a combination of experimental sounds and melodies blended with features of pop song structure and great dynamics. The song is the ultimate protagonist, not the performers. Useless solos and virtuosities are forbidden. What we really care about is to communicate with you, not within ourselves. From 1999 to today we have performed more than eighty times, not so bad for a young underground band. We have played as support band for some italian outstanding bands like Tre Allegri Ragazzi Morti, Sushi, Medusa, Afterhours and international stars like Planet Funk and Underworld, as well. A small but strong reality rooted in a post-heavy industrial city. A reality called Overock. And we're still working on to become greater and greater day by day. At last the latest overock EP “Acid sounds in a groove box” is out; 4 songs recorded in 3 different studios to get the right sound we wanted. Paolo Ciro & Davide Signorio (Moog, Neroluce, Andata & Ritorno O.S.T.) took care of the artistic production, Roy Bennett (voice & guitar of the famous English band Too Rude) checked the lyrics and the pronunciation. 4 songs that explain the overock sonic vision very well. Moving forward from Punk to Nu Metal, from Indie to Hardcore and Power-pop, Nerdsound Records aims to realize just high quality products. Started in 2003 from an idea of Americo Roma, the Label propose itself to emprove every single step of a band and of a music production: art production by a professional own recording studio, executive production, management, promotion, booking, press agency, event production, endorsment and partnership, graphic artwork, merchandising production and web graphic. Since the summer of 2003, NerdSound Records company assumes the production of the Etnika Rock Festival, in which live concerts of internationally known bands take place as well as different kind of exhibitions and until the next and fourth edition has already played bands of the caliber of Linea77, Punkreas, Prozac+, Los Fastidios and more others. In 2004 the label undertakes the production of the debut album of Me For Rent, an italian punk-hardcore band. ”Il manuale del perfetto impostore” was released in september 2004 distributed by Goodfellas. By a careful promotion and a quality product Me For Rent start to conquer a good attention in italian crowd underground scene and start soon to be considered one of the most promising italian punkhardcore reality and were chose for playing at Rock in Idro Festival in Milan with great bands as Nofx, Ska-P, Offspring, the Hives and more others. The band formed in the year 2002 and begin compose original songs crossing rock, psychedelic and metal music. Over then fifty gigs in two years made the combo strong and confident on stage and let the band’s name cross all over north of Italy where they found fans and people who trust in their music. The songs are painful, melodic and powerful at the same time and help to create good vibration during live set. After the first years of preproduction and live set the band recorded their first official album, thirty minutes of music with six songs and tree interludes, with the help and co-production of “Bunkker Prod.” with the clever and strong mixing section of Mirko Nosari. The self title “Ep” went really well on magazine, webzine and sector radio and the intensive live activity permitted the band to sold out one thousand records and other merchandising, t-shirt, pin and more.. The band at the moment is working on the new songs and prepare for the preproduction of the next record and looking forward to find the right producer and label for the new attitude they grow up. So we’re about to go! Shirley Temple? has been working really hard over the last days to set up all the last details, so now is ready to enter the studio: next week the band is beginning a recording session to fix 9 new tracks for the new album HERE COMES THE CLICHÉ. Its title is evidently dedicated to all the people who had dismissed Shirley Temple? as a cliché phenomenon with no personality in the past. Actually, the new record will show a departure of Shirley Temple? from the former crossover/numetal sound to reach a new and more indie-r’n’r-oriented approach. HERE COMES THE CLICHÉ will be entirely produced and mixed by :fa: and Shirley Temple? and shoud be ready at the end of February.

Attempting to second-guess foreign languages based on what words sound like in English can be misleading. With the 'O' written like a cog on the rough, scratched metallic album sleeve, and their debut's title 'human indu[B]strial' (that reversed lettering so beloved of Warhammering designers on Myspace), I had interpreted "Deflore" to imply some kind of beastly stinking metal behemoths who make music that pops maidenheads like the anxious might bubble wrap. Yet you'd be foolish to allow this to lead you to expect an album of mogadon industrial banality. For the Italian noise-geek duo of Deflore have, in 'human indu[B]strial', created a broad-reaching, atmospheric, expansive and yet accessible instrumental noise album. The dark pendulum of 'human indu[B]strial' swings from the subsonic crushing basslines of the titans of doom to the studied geometrical noise of mathrock, and slices back through the grating paranoia of industrial noise. And what's more, that can often occur within the same piece. For example, album centrepiece 'Lexodub' has quiet periods of echoing introspection around a muted, melodic guitar line, and uses the beats for the steam-expulsion, scratching and gaspy unpleasantness, like a Euro-goth Mogwai over for a foreign exchange trip. It's a quieter counterpart to earlier track 'Experiment C-Low', which sounds like a cranky U-boat lurking beneath oily seas: half a tense, electronic wait, half lurching chords given a thorough rinsing through violent action. But it gets ever more mixed. 'Orto D-Ossa' begins with subterranean chants, meanders through some jarring, ponderous drum patterns that become ever tauter as a more ethereal, choral vocal line appears above. The very next moment is the four-and-a-half minute 'S-Zwein', which combines goth-spring-booted dance-lurches with moments of metallic minimalism, and finally, mutedly triumphant droning melody.
